Lie Detection

Lie detection, is deception detection test based on the fact that ‘one lie is enough to question all truths’ which measures the physiological changes in the body to differentiate between truths and lies. It is conducted based on the principle that when a person is lying, tends to become nervous and thus there will be some physiological and psychological changes in the body. Our experts use various techniques such as voice polygraph, micro expressions and content analysis to detect lies, extract hidden/repressed knowledge about a fact and (or) verify the truth.

“There is nothing as deceptive as an obvious fact” – Arthur Conan Doyle

Lie detection has various techniques and we at Clue4 Evidence Forensic Lab have been using Voice Polygraph in combination with Micro Expressions to identify the deception and have submitted our reports in various investigations and by the order of Courts.

  • Lie detection

Polygraphs popularly referred to as a lie detector, when the polygraph test starts, three or four simple questions are asked to establish the norms for the person's signals. Then the real questions being tested by the polygraph are asked. Throughout questioning, all of the person's signals are recorded on the moving paper. Both during and after the test, a polygraph examiner can look at the graphs and can see whether the vital signs changed significantly on any of the questions. In general, a significant change (such as a faster heart rate, higher blood pressure, increased perspiration) indicates that the person is lying.
Polygraphs are used as an interrogation/investigation tool with criminal suspects/candidates for sensitive public or private sector employment/marital character check. When a person takes a polygraph test, four to six sensors are attached to him. A polygraph is a machine in which the multiple ("poly") signals from the sensors are recorded on a single strip of moving paper ("graph”)It could also explain which parts of the brain are active when subjects use artificial memories. This indicates that deception may involve inhibition of truthful responses (truth verification)
